• Install the Milk Cooler

        In this instruction we will show you how to install the Animo Milk Cooler. The milk cooler may only be used to keep milk for human consumption cool in combination with the Animo OptiMe coffee machine.

        NOTE: the milk cooler has not been designed to cool down the milk from the ambient temperature (or above).

        Some models also have cup warmer shelves, for preheating coffee cups and glasses

        Installation must be carried out by an authorized Animo dealer. Your dealer will install your Milk Cooler together with your OptiMe coffee machine.

        Before you start 

        Carefully read the " Safety instructions and environmental information" provided with the machine.

        Intended use of the appliance

        Animo appliances are exclusively designed for producing hot drinks. Accompanying accessories such as milk coolers and cup warmers are intended to be used adjacent to the appliances. All Animo appliances are intended to be installed and used indoors. All appliances are intended to be used in households and similar applications such as:

        • Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments
        • Farm houses
        • By clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments
        • Bed and breakfast type environments
        • Catering and similar non-retail applications

        All appliances must be installed, used and maintained as described in the accompanying manuals. Only use the appliance if it is in a perfect mechanical condition and only for the purpose for which it is intended.

        SAFETY

        • Before use, check the Animo appliances for completeness and damage. Damage must be repaired by Animo, Its dealer or other qualified professionals.
        • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
        • Children shall not play with the appliance.
        • Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
        • All users have to understand the hazards involved in using this appliance.
        • Parts of the appliance may become very hot during use. Do not touch these parts.

        The OptiMe Milk Cooler is designed to keep milk cool while preparing coffee drinks with a coffee machine equipped with a fresh milk module.

        • Ingredient box (art. no. 1007229) - Not included if milk cooler is equipped with a cup warmer on top (CW-model).
      • Place the Milk Cooler on a firm, flat surface next to the coffee machine.

        Place the Milk Cooler with at least 5 cm (2 inch) of space at its back and top, to allow warm air from condensation to escape.

      • Remove the protective foil. 

      • Remove the green cover from the nozzle on the right side of the OptiMe Coffee machine

      • Connect the milk hose to the milk input nozzle of the OptiMe coffee machine

        Feed the milk hose through the hole in the left side panel of the Milk Cooler.

        • Clean the milk container with warm water
        • Place the milk hose in the milk container
        • Place the milk container in the Milk Cooler and close the door.

        NOTE: the milk container can be filled with milk up to its max capacity (4 ltr).

      • Position the Milk Cooler next to the OptiMe coffee machine. 

        Optionally: use magnets (accessory, Art. No. 1008139) to attach the Milk Cooler to the coffee machine.

      • Connect the Milk Cooler to a 230 V mains power socket with the provided power cable.

        Note: Make sure that a the power supply has a capacity of at least 43 W (78 W for CW model: Milk Cooler with cup warmer on top).

      • Do you have an ingredient box in your package? Place it on top of the Milk Cooler.

        Attention: If you have a Milk Cooler with a cup warmer on top, than the ingredient box is not included and must not be used!

        Your Fresh Milk Fridge is now installed and ready to use.

      • Attention

        If the Milk Cooler has not been transported upright, it must rest for at least 24 hours before it can be switched on.

        Switch on the Milk Cooler.

        • Once switched on, the Milk Cooler will begin to operate, but a certain amount of time is needed (depending on external conditions as well as on the thermostat setting) for it to reach the required internal temperature.
        • The temperature is set to about 4 °C by default. The setting can be changed by service professionals trained by the manufacturer.
        • We recommend to inserting milk inside the Milk Cooler only once the internal temperature has stabilized.

        For start using the Milk Cooler follow the instruction as described in coffee machine user manual: Fill the fresh milk system 

      • If you have a cup warmer on top of the Milk Cooler, push the on/off switch of the cup warmer to activate/deactivate the cup warmer.

        The shelf will begin heating, and it will reach its steady-state temperature after abt. 10 minutes.

        You can place mugs and/or cups with their opening downward on the shelf, paying attention to the high temperature of the shelf.

    • Cleaning the Milk Cooler

      • Under the current regulations regarding health and safety, the operator is responsible for the hygiene of food contact materials and must maintain and clean the unit, preventing the bacteria formation.

        ATTENTION!

        Clean the milk system as described in coffee machine user manual: Fresh milk system cleaning before refill 

        Before you start:

        Wash your hands thoroughly or wear gloves 

        Carefully read the " Safety instructions and environmental information" provided with the machine.

    • Defrosting the Milk Cooler

      • If the milk cooler is left to operate for a very long period of time, it is possible for ice to form on its inside walls.

        If the ice becomes considerably thick, it is advised to defrost the milk cooler in order to continue to guarantee good appliance efficiency and to avoid higher electricity consumption.

        Before you start:

        • Wash your hands thoroughly or wear gloves 
        • Carefully read the " Safety instructions and environmental information" provided with the machine.
      • Switch off the Milk Cooler.

      • Take the milk container out of your milk cooler and place it in a fridge.

      • Open the door to your milk cooler and leave it open for abt. 60 minutes.

        Attention! Never use tools or any type of utensils to remove ice, this could damage the evaporator, which is in contact with the inside walls of the Milk Cooler. The manufacturer cannot accept any liability for damage to the appliance caused by failure to abide by this recommendation.

      • Clean and dry thoroughly drying the inside walls of the Milk Cooler.

      • Place the milk container back.

      • Close the door and switch the Milk cooler on.

        The Milk cooler is ready to use.
